Electric Chair!

A prominent family had decided to give their children a book of their family's
history. The Patriarch had one problem. Uncle W., the 'Black Sheep' of the family,
had been executed by a Prison's electric chair for murder. He carefully handled
the situation in the following way, and wrote:
"Uncle W. occupied a chair of applied electronics at one of our nation's
leading institutions. He was attached to his position by the strongest of ties.
His death came as a true shock."
From there on, they kept the W. as part of their names, and of course the "spinning"
art in the family.
